The Wai (pronounced WHY)

You greet people with a Wai. You can say thank you with a wai. You say goodbye with a wai. Pretty much you will wai a lot in Thailand. You put your palms together and place them anywhere between your chest and forehead. You always wai people older than you. They may choose to wai you back or not. You don't initiate a wai with someone younger than you. The higher the wai, the more respect is being paid to the person receiving the wai.

By the way, hello is "Sawat-dee." Thank you is "cob-coon." Goodbye/good luck is "choke-dee"

In less than 4 months....

ABOVE: This is the Sisaket group at the Christmas program. I know because of the shepherd's crook in Jimeesik's hand. Everyone is dressed up in traditional dance clothing. Isn't it great and Asian?
BELOW: These are some members in Pakkret. These members are completely awesome and then some. The little toddler is the daughter of Phii Nok (the lady in the wheelchair) that got baptized. I knew her when she was just 3 weeks old. Now she is over 2!!

We are going to Thailand in less than 4 months and I am pretty excited. I think it is time that I start giving language tips and culture tips so you will all be prepared. For today I just want to introduce you to some awesome people that you are likely to meet.

Lately I have had a lot of free time on my hands. I decided to spend some of it figuring out Photoshop Elements. It is a really great program once you start to figure out how to do some things. Here are some of my creations from the last couple of days.
