Random Moments

Can you believe how old they are getting? I get to teach piano to Avery, and it has been really fun to see her progress over the last couple of years. I also love getting to see Aidan, Lucy, and Natalie each time, too.
I was in Salt Lake right by Steph's house, so I called to see if I could come over and chat. Not only did she let me come over, she also fed me delicious pot roast. What a friend!
The Thai Ambassador to the United States came to Utah for some business, and I had the chance to perform some Thai songs for him with Rachel and Weston. It was fun to pull out some of my old songs and get them performance ready. It was also fun to catch up with some mission friends. The Ambassador is the man in the bottom picture. He was such a kind man. Very impressive. He even did an impromptu solo at the end of the evening. I'll have to try to find someone who recorded it and put it on here.

This is me and Becky Castleton, one of my MTC teachers from long-ish ago. Look out for her in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir!

Easter

My mom is the queen of Grandmas and always manages to throw a pretty fantastic Easter Egg Hunt. This year was no exception. It was fun to be in Boise and play with Keyton, Lola, and Mads.

Pottery

I signed up for a community pottery class this term. These are my finished pieces. I definitely learned that I don't have the patience of an artist. It was really hard for me to sit for two hours each week and create pots. I'm glad I did it though.

Resolutions

I was flipping through the pictures in my phone and camera a few weeks ago and realized that I hardly have any documentation of the goings on in my life. So, I made a resolution to get my camera out more often.

Here are the results from this week:

We got together as a 2nd grade team (Emily and Julia were missed) and made Thai food on Thursday night.  We chopped enormous amounts of vegetables and meat and had a delightful time. I really love the girls on this team.

Jessica, Steph, and I got together on Saturday for some pancakes and bonding.

Stephanie and her long hair AND her baby
I met up with Mike and his kids at Scheels. I love everything about this picture.

Do you see Mike in this picture? I actually got to see him and spend more than an hour with him.  So happy.

Avery and I were partners on the ferris wheel.

Daily News

A couple of my students have started a daily newspaper. They go home each night and write about the happenings of the day. There are also special features such as the comics, recipes, and a Try This! section. I had a half day sub yesterday afternoon because I wasn't feeling 100%. Turns out I made the front page today. I wish that I HAD been able to lay out at the pool with lemonade and some cookies. And, it's good to know I'm missed when I leave.

Packed With Personality

Friday Fun

Megan is one of my dear friends. I really, really adore her. I hadn't seen her since March, so we decided to get together for breakfast. It was a pretty awesome hour catching up and eating delicious pancakes at The Original Pancake House.
After breakfast, I taught Avery a long overdue piano lesson. She is a rockstar. I just assigned her the last few pages in her second book. She is a delight to teach because she picks up on everything so quickly. I'm glad that Natalie lets me teach her piano.

Natalie, the kids, and I were going to go to Red Butte but they wouldn't let me in on their pass, so we went to This is the Place instead. It was hot, but fun. Thanks to Natalie for letting me tag along. Here are some pictures:
