Composed by Terry A. Smith sometime before 1999
Sometimes things are hard to say
Because of fear of what may sway.
It is so for those who see
The shallow forms of apparent speech;
For those who look more at the past
To review, decide, to keep or cast.
Yet for me this can't ever be
For even the Savior could not be.
For even the woman caught in sin
Was not judged and in hell thrown in.
She was told to go sin no more,
Cleanse herself and come to Christ once more.
Because of this I'm caused to think
That one of the important truths is the link-
It's where you're going, not where you've been;
The perfection that's coming, not the past of sin.
Which way you are heading is plain to me.
Keep going to same direction-perfect you'll be.
